Bending

The bending of metal means changing the angle of the sheet or parts of the sheet, for example, to bend the sheet into shape V or U. Generally, there are two ways of bending: one is bending with a die, which is used when the material has a complex structure, small-sized and with a need of a large quantity; the other is bending with a machine, which is used to process the large-sized parts with a small quantity.

Die bending is used when the quantity is over 5000 and the size of the part is not very large (normally it will be 300*300). In order to prolong the life of the die, the design of the parts should use a round angle. It is not beneficial for the forming of the bend If the angle of the bending is too small. Usually the height of the bend L≥3t.

Machine bending uses machines to bend. The bending machines are divided into two kinds. One is ordinary machines and the other is CNC machines. In our company, we have two CNC bending machines, one is for bending metal sheets, and the other is for bending pipes. CNC machines are used to bend the parts with a high requirement of quality and irregular shapes. Its principle is using a bending knife (the upper die) and the V-shaped channel (the bottom die) to bend and form the parts.

Its advantages are easy to clamp, accurate to fix position and fast in speed.
